UK: The Royal family has released a photo of Prince Philip with the Queen Elizabeth to mark Duke of Edinburgh’s 99th birthday.
According to details, Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth can be seen standing in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle in the released picture.
In the picture, the duke is wearing a Household Division tie while Queen Elizabeth has donned heart-shaped 18.8 carat diamond brooch called Cullinan V, which she has worn many times, including for her granddaughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding and London Fashion Week.
Reportedly, the Duke of Edinburgh will spend the day at Windsor Castle, where he and Queen Elizabeth have been isolated themselves due to coronavirus lockdown.
Normally, the Duke’s birthday is celebrated with gun salutes in his honor in London, but no such ceremony will take place this year in wake of coronavirus.
The pair got married in 1947, with the duke being the longest-serving consort in British history.
Due to the ongoing situation and self-imposed isolation of Royal couple, the rest of their family members will wish the Duke through video calls.
“I haven’t seen my father for a long time. He’s going to be 99 next week,” heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles said last week.
“Facetime is all very well … You really want to give people a hug.”
